Wild Maine Blueberry Fritters Print E-mail

Save Recipe: Wild Maine Blueberry Fritters

ImageHow about waking up to wild Maine blueberry filled fritters with warm maple syrup?  Mmm sounds like a great start to the day doesn't it?  Thanks to Coach Stop Inn (Bar Harbor, ME) you can do just that with their recipe for "Wild Maine Blueberry Fritters".  Of course you don't have to use wild Maine blueberries or Maine maple syrup, but make sure you use pure maple syrup, warm it before serving and eat the fritters while they are still nice and warm then sit back, relax, and enjoy the start of your day…

Wild Maine Blueberry Fritters

  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. Baking Powder
  • 3 Tbl. Powdered Sugar
  • ¼ tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/3 Cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ Cup Frozen Wild Maine Blueberries
  • Pure Maine Maple Syrup, to taste

Mix all dry ingredients.  Add milk and vanilla to egg and beat well, slowly stir into dry ingredients.  When batter is smooth, fold in blueberries until mixed evenly.  Drop 2 oz. scoops slowly into 360 degree vegetable oil, and cook until golden brown.  Remove fritters and drain off any excess oil.  Serve with a generous portion of warm Maine maple syrup.  Enjoy!

About Coach Stop Inn Bed & Breakfast

ImageCoach Stop Inn bed & breakfast built c.1804 is Bar Harbor's oldest inn, originally a stagecoach stop and tavern.  Stepping through the front door is truly like stepping back in time to over 200 years ago when Thomas Jefferson was president.  Enjoy our country setting surrounded by antique apple trees and lovely gardens.  Our convenient location makes it easy to get to all that Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park have to offer.  You'll be sure to remember Jeff & Natalie's attention to detail and you will find that the food is what you will be talking about for many years.  Come see why "Down East" magazine says Coach Stop Inn is "Where to Stay in Bar Harbor".
