How about "Grand Marnier Berries"?  A mixture of blueberries, strawberries, bananas and Grand Marnier give you the perfect fruit mixture for the start of your day or the end of your day as a delicious dessert. And, if that isn't enough for you then finish things off with the amazing "Foothill House Sweet Dream Cookies", amazing chocolate chip cookies that will have you dreaming of more...

 

Decadent French Toast Souffle

Foothill House Bed and Breakfast, Calistoga, CA

Makes 8 Servings

  • 4 - 5 Medium Croissants, Baked
  • 6 Ounces Cream Cheese, Softened
  • ½ Cup Butter, Softened
  • ¾ Cup Maple Syrup
  • 10 Eggs
  • 3 Cups Half and Half
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon Sugar
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Chopped Pecans

In a food Processor, break apart croissants, and use processor to make into crumbs. Distribute evenly into 8 greased ramikens.

In food processor, combine cream cheese, butter, ¼ cup maple syrup and beat till creamy. Add heaping dollop into middle of croissant crumbs.

In Large bowl, beat together eggs, ½ cup Maple Syrup, and Half and Half, pour over mixture so it's completely covered. Preheat oven to 350 and Bake for 45-55 minutes or until golden. 

Sprinkle with chopped Pecans and powdered sugar, swirl warm syrup over and serve with garnish of flower or berry.

Foothill House Grand Marnier Berries

Foothill House B&B, Calistoga, CA

Serves 8

  • 1 Cup Fresh Blueberries
  • 3-4 Cups Fresh Strawberries, Diced
  • 1-2 Bananas, Sliced
  • 3-5 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 3-6 Tbsp Grand Marnier
  • 3-4 Strawberries for decoration, (Raspberries work too)

Place whole blueberries in large bowl. Add half of the strawberries and sprinkle with half of sugar. Add remaining strawberries and remaining sugar.  Drizzle with Grand Marnier. Add sliced bananas and gently mix together with berries.
Put into individual fruit cups and dollop with whipped cream, decorate with mint, strawberry slices, raspberries, etc…


Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Foothill House B&B, Calistoga, CA

Serves 8

  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • 1 ½ Cup Sugar
  • 2 Beaten Eggs
  • 1 ¾ Cup Flour
  • 6 Tbsp Sour Cream
  • 1 Cup Bananas
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • chocolate chips
Cream butter and sugar together. Add the Bananas, eggs, sour cream, flour, baking soda, and baking powder, mix well. Add as many chocolate chips as you so desire. Divide batter into two loaf pans, Bake at 350 Degrees for 50 Minutes

Serve Warm for better smiles!!!

 

Foothill House Sweet Dream Cookies

Foothill House B&B, Calistoga, CA

Makes 20-30 Cookies

  • 1 Cup (2 Sticks) Unsalted Butter
  • 1 ½ Cups Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 ½ Cups unbleached AP Flower
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 12 ounce package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Cream butter and beat in brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt, blend into butter mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts, refrigerate until firm.

Preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease baking sheets.

Break off small pieces of dough, roll between palms into 1 inch rounds. Dredge rounds in powdered sugar and arrange on baking sheets. Give at least 2 inches in between cookies. Bake for 10 minutes and give 5 minutes to cool on sheet. Transfer to racks and let cool, store in airtight container.
