Let's face it: everyone loves to dip. This is a refreshingly light appetizer for any party or potluck, and a delicious alternative to a green salad for home dinners. Creme fraiche is a little thicker than sour cream, giving this a drip-free dipping consistency; and the fresh herbs deliver flavor reminiscent of the summer garden. I'm not sure about cooking asparagus for 5 minutes--their spears must have been much thicker than the ones I used. But I'm all for dipping radishes, as I consider them a very under-utilized veggie. Farmers' markets generally carry the best selection of mild, tender \"designer\" radishes, usually a far departure from the coarse, peppery ones found at most supermarkets.
