Looking for easy recipes that don't require much thought, effort or time? I think "Sam the Cooking Guy" may have just what you are looking for. In the first book from The Discover Health Channel's show Sam the Cooking Guy, Sam Zien presents 'just a bunch of recipes' that follow his no-frills philosophy to deliver simple food for the everyday family.
While this isn't the ultimate 'foodie' cookbook, I can see why it is compelling; I mean who doesn't have days where they just want to get some food on the table? Food that tastes good, yet doesn't wear you down? And this book provides just that.
The recipes are simple, you won't find glamor here and that is exactly the point. But, keep in mind if you cook a lot it's likely many of your standard get-food-on-the-table-meals are here and you won't find much new. In fact, I found the recipes in this cookbook very similar to my standard meals that I make when using whatever I have laying around the pantry. If you're looking for simple, straight forward meals and not sure what to do with what you have laying around it is a great place to start.
