In 2007 designer meatballs seemed to be making a bit of a come back, so a while back I decided to experiment with a few different recipes. This was one of my favorites. You can substitute the veal with lean beef is you prefer. Either way, whe sauce is sooo good and don't forget the chopsticks!

Pork Fried Rice

Forget the little take-out carton  of greasy rice that lingers in your refrigerator--this is the real deal. One stop at an Asian deli or market to buy the Chinese barbecued pork, and you're halfway to a fast and fabulous dinner. With its fresh and vibrant flavors, no one will ever confuse this with something than came from a local restaurant. This colorful one-dish meal is great for busy weeknights as well as casual weekend meals. For dessert? Try a bowl of your favorite fruit sorbet and store-bought fortune cookies.

Solid vegetable shortening is usually high in trans fats. Definately NOT a healthy fat choice.

Looking for something new to add to our Superbowl menu I stumbled upon this great recipe for a Lump Crab Salsa.  Mom and I tried it out last weekend and it definitely makes the cut.  A great addition to the standard guacamole and seven layer dip.

The dip is healthy, but maybe try lower fat/salt alternatives to the potato chips for dipping.

Buffalo Chicken Wings

With one of America's favorite pastimes fast approaching (Superbowl), I started thinking about the food that Mom and I usually prepare for our informal gathering and no Superbowl party would be complete without the infamous Buffalo Wing.  This foolproof recipe is the exact replica of the one Mom and I have been using for years.  Go Giants!

Grilling is always a healthier choice than deep fat frying but the butter hot sauce and blue cheese dip make these a very high fat appetizer.
