To get things cooking on this form I'll start with a question that I've been stewing for a while now - What is the best burger to make for the final holiday weekend of the summer? I'd like to end the summer with a fabulous burger so if you've got a favorite from this (or past) summers please share!

I'm for the traditional. Ground chuck, thick juicy burgers. Must have grilled onions, mushrooms, greens, and ketchup on a hearty toasty roll!

hmmmm. That all sounds great but what about mix-ins? The last burger I made had crumbled bacon and some cheese mixed in before cooking. The bacon made it really juicy.
Has anyone tried other mix-ins? I've seen recipes for lots of different possibilities inside the burgers but not tried many yet...

I've never really "mixed-in" with my meat, but I do "stuff" my burgers from time to time. My favorite was a feta-stuffed burger. I seasoned ground sirloin the way I always would to make a burger then formed 2 thin patties, spread a decent lump of feta on one pattie, then topped it with the other, and pinched the edges to form 1 larger burger. Yum!

I've heard of stuffed burgers but never tried one - thanks for the idea! Husband likes Feta so I'm sure he'll enjoy that but I may go with a funky blue cheese in mine! Time to get grilling...
